Air Cushion Film

A continuous inflatable cushioning packaging material with multiple air chambers, which needs to be used together with specialized inflation machines. We mainly offer two different material options: pure PE material and PE + PA co-extruded film.Air Cushion Film features strong cushioning performance and high elasticity.
  • ✔Multi-chamber impact distribution——Gourd-shaped connected cells absorb and redistribute shock — cargo stays positioned, not just cushioned.
  • ✔Two materials, two performance tiers——PE for void fill and e-commerce. PE+PA for fragile wrapping, industrial parts, and long-transit routes.
  • ✔Uninflated storage cuts warehouse overhead——Store months of inventory in the footprint bubble wrap uses for weeks. Inflate on demand at the pack station.
  • ✔Configurable to your operation——Thickness, bubble size, roll length, sheet format, custom print — all adjustable per SKU or product line.

Ⅰ.The Problem & Solution Framework

Your current packaging process probably has one of three expensive problems.

Warehouses filled with pre-inflated void fill that takes up rack space you’re paying for. Bubble wrap that arrives in rolls so thick your team has trouble wrapping irregular items efficiently. Or fragile goods — ceramics, electronics, precision parts — arriving at customers with damage claims that cost you far more than the packaging ever saved.

Air Cushion Film solves all three. Stored uninflated on compact rolls, it takes up a fraction of the space of comparable materials. Inflated at the point of packing in seconds, it conforms to product geometry, fills void spaces, and — in PA co-extruded form — wraps directly around fragile items as a high-toughness buffer layer. You inflate what you need, when you need it. Nothing more.

Ⅱ.FAQ

Q: What inflation machine do I need, and can I use equipment I already own?

The film requires a dedicated air cushion inflation machine or a properly regulated air compressor with a compatible nozzle fitting. Not all generic compressors are suitable — pressure control matters, because over-inflation past the 80% threshold reduces shock absorption performance and increases burst risk. We supply compatible inflation machines and can confirm compatibility with your existing equipment before you order. Provide your current machine brand and model and we’ll advise.

Q: We ship internationally — will the cushions stay inflated by the time product reaches the end customer?

For standard domestic or short-haul routes, PE film holds air reliably for 6–8 weeks under normal ambient conditions. For ocean freight, long-haul air cargo, or any shipment where transit time could exceed two months, we recommend PE+PA co-extruded film, which maintains inflation for 4–6 months. The PA barrier layer significantly reduces gas permeability. If you’re sourcing for a cross-border operation, the PE+PA variant is the correct specification.

Q: We wrap fragile items like glassware and ceramics. Can this film replace foam inserts?

For many applications, yes — particularly with PE+PA film, which is flexible enough to wrap directly around irregular shapes while providing meaningful impact absorption. That said, film cushioning and rigid foam serve different functions: film excels at void fill, wrapping, and distributed cushion; molded foam inserts are better for fixed-position critical protection of very high-value items. A common approach is using both — film as the outer wrap and void fill, foam as a fixed insert for the most vulnerable contact points. We can provide sample sets of both bubble sizes and thicknesses so your team can run a drop test against your actual products before committing to a specification.

Q: What’s the minimum order, and what are lead times for custom specifications?

[Placeholder — publish actual MOQ and standard lead time here. For B2B credibility, include: standard stock SKUs with lead time, custom spec lead time, and sample availability. Buyers who have to email for this information frequently don’t.]

For custom orders — specific thickness, logo printing, non-standard roll lengths — lead times vary by specification. Standard stock rolls are available for immediate dispatch. Contact our sales team with your monthly volume estimate and we’ll confirm pricing tiers and lead times in writing within one business day.

Q: If product arrives damaged at our warehouse — film that won’t inflate, rolls with defects — what’s the process?

All rolls are inspected before dispatch. In the event of a manufacturing defect — failed seals, inconsistent perforation, material that won’t hold inflation — we replace the affected units. Document the defect with photos upon receipt and contact us within 15 days. We do not require the full order to be returned for defect claims on individual rolls. For B2B accounts ordering at volume, we can discuss incoming QC sampling protocols.
