What gauge stretch film should I use for my pallet wrapper?

It depends on your load weight, shape, and line speed. As a starting point: 8–12μm for light uniform loads, 15–20μm for standard mixed pallets, 23μm+ for heavy or irregular loads. If you’re seeing tears or instability at a gauge that should work, it’s often a pre-stretch ratio or wrapper setting issue rather than purely a gauge problem. What’s the difference between standard LLDPE and metallocene stretch film?

Standard LLDPE film covers the majority of industrial applications well and is cost-effective at scale. Metallocene film uses a different catalyst process that produces more consistent molecular structure — the result is higher elongation (up to 500–600% pre-stretch in some grades), better puncture resistance, and more reliable performance at lower gauge. It costs more per roll but can reduce film consumption significantly on high-volume or demanding applications.

Can you supply both pre-stretched and standard stretch film?

Yes. Standard (machine applies tension) and pre-stretched (film arrives partially elongated) are both available. Pre-stretched film uses less energy on the wrapper and is gentler on fragile loads, but requires compatible equipment. Let us know your wrapper type and we’ll confirm compatibility.

Do you offer custom colors or printed film?
